A series of activities and events will take place from 13 to 20 September 2006 during Singapore 2006. But our job in the Supply and Transport Center will commerce from 04 Sept 2006. Meaning more work but same pay.. Minimum 12 hours of work per day maximum 16... It is the biggest event that Singapore has ever hosted. It is even bigger than the IOC, WTO and etc. Delegates, governor, from 162 countries will be here in SIngapore......

Time passes very fast 4 weeks has passed and my course is coming to an end. Next will be the MAN Truck course. During the course, I pass everything on the first attempt except for the stupid, useless and time wasting Highway Situational Problems aka HSP which I passed on my third attempt, 3 out of 4. Main aim of HSP is to let us know what are the different stunts other road users will come out with on the road.
"I check my mirror, beware of any motorcyclist squeezing into my lane signal my intention to turn right beware of any pedestrain dashing across the road, I confirm safe to proceed then I proceed"
STUPID thing!! After the course will be my transport sup course......Gd Luck to me!!

Finally after days of waiting, I have receive my army sign-on contract. They posted me to be a Transport Supervisor Specialist, my first choice was to be an Automotive Engineer but due to dunno whatever reason they did not want to give that vocation to me. But nevertheless, i am still happy with my vocation. Then again my bunk mate was not that lucky. He pass IPPT, went thru SOC, field camp and sit-test, he was not given the contract. Me and my fellow bunk-mates thought was his BMT ranking was too bad and chao keng too much during the whole course of BMT.

060606 was my POP... We had many practices before the actual parade. During the rehearsal the weather was really hot. Guess what.. it actually rain on the actual day..Our smartest no.4 has all become wet 4.. No matter how much effort we have put in ironing or how much starch spray we have use all has went down into the drain and all has come to zero. In the end we have to wait under the rain for almost an hour before the parade start. Everybody's moral was at an all time low at that time, thinking that "WTF raining on POP day?? Thinking is dunno which fellow never bath or is it the CO too kiam siap" But nevertheless, the moment the whole contingent from Ulysses company march into the parade square, the cheers and clapping from the audiences instantly lift up everyone's moral. It was totally a different feeling comparing the actual parade to all the rehearsal. When the whole school on the parade square performing a right command given out by the commander, everyone from the grandstand was cheering for you, It was a fantastic feeling. Another highlight is when parents are invited onto the parade square to put on our jockey caps for recruits.. Although the whole parade last less than 1 hour, it is really one of the lifetime experience for me!

here we go again.. same old shit again.. up and down this avenue 3 more days and we'll be through.. 3 more days to POP..P..O..P..O..P..POPOPOPO..POPOP...
Wat a waste man!! 9.56 for my IPPT 2.4km run.. 11 more seconds have to settle for silver. As the OC said better luck next time..
Just finish my 24 km route march.. abrasion on my tights.. and heat rashes develops. Anyway this is the graduation march and I am glad that I have finish everything.. POP LOH!!

Going to POP soon.. Soon I will be leaving Tekong. Everything in Tekong is bad but except for one thing. The scenry is the best that I have ever seen in my life. During my field camp, I saw fire flies flying around and stars brighter than diamond, at the stadium rainbow showing exactly seven colours and the sunset at Pulau Tekong which paints the whole sky orange, the sun is rounder than salted egg yolk.

Aftermath of all out field activities

7 days of field camp then 3 days sit-test, all back to back activities. Sit test was much easlier than field camp but that is on the physical part. Mentally it was much tougher, because you need to keep track of the timing, ensure the mission is carried out correctly, especially if that you are the IC or 2IC..
Before the commerece of sit test there was this 12 click route march totally tired the whole company out...2nd day 6 click fast march followed by another 2 click fast march on the 3rd day and after each route march there will be a series of so called extra PT.
Extra PT consists of
High Kneel Weapon Overhead
Crunches
Alternate leg thrust
Jumping Jacks
and last bt not least the infamous pumping.

12 missions in 2 days. The most challenging part was to carry one of our teammate on the stretcher and run back to the field camp site..
Lastly, I think that each and everybody should try out the combat rations provided by SAF. Just to name a few.. Lo Mai Kai, Chicken potatoes stew, teriyaki chicken pasta, chicken murshroom rice and desert.. green bean soup with coconut milk, red bean soup, creamy corn soup.
Actually after all the combat ration is not that bad... 3 more weeks to POP...

It has been a long time since i last blogged. On this Tuesday it will be exactly 8 weeks at Tekong, how fast time flies.. on 060606 will be my POP day which is also the day whereby i and my dear will be together for 4 years. The life in army is not considered easy. Everyday have to wake up at 0530. 0545 will be 5BX, 0600 breakfast, then area cleaning finally our first lesson at 0730 and training all the way up till night before R.O before we can get back to our bunk
Just came back from field camp, definately it was not an easy one, surly it is tough, but hey.. I can go out and tell my friends about it, and there is a great sense of satisfaction in me. I have gone through all the punishments, tekanning and tough traning.
On day 2, Rubbish and litters were found at our campsite, we were made to carry our full battle order and gather in 3 min time. Sounds easy but it is tough..
Day 3, some bloody idiot's backside cannot aim properly into the shithole, went to shit around the latrine, this time round the whole company were made to lepoard crawl from the gathering point into the latrine and turn back. This part of field camp must be classified as the most classic punishment.
Tough training is a "no hourse run" in field camp. I think that trench digging and leapord crawl practice is the most siong part of the whole thing. I will be posting the pics once i got hold of them..
Upon going thru this field camp i have recognised who are the people who you can depend on when you are in need, who are the people that only take care of themselves during an emergency, and most importantally who are the people you can count on and will not leave you behind...

08-03-2006.. The day after tomorrow at this time, i will not be at home sitting away chatting with my dear wife, I will be at Tekong chalet enjoying my 10 days 11 night chalet. Package consists of

Days have been passing very quickly. In 2002, just got into NYP. 4 years has passed just like that. I did spend a longer time than others, but hey I am poly graduate ok...Don't prey prey!!! Although nowadays a diploma in Singapore no big deal, there are still teenager out there who did not even finish their primary school education. Not to show off this small little achievment, but it's a fact.

Back to army, another new chapter in my life.. not a primary or secondary school kid playing catching during recess time at the school field. 22 years old already.. you do anything wrong no more calling parents to school.. Its the police who will come and play catching with you....

3 days out of Singapore, seems like a lot of thing has happened these few days. First NYP sex scandal. I have heard about this piece of news quite sometime ago before it was reported. Anyway I am out of the school this has got nothing to do with me at all. You know that your phone has got such stuff, you should have keep it safely.
Second, the death of Singapore's first Foreign Minister Mr. Rajaratnam.. All indian people the name almost the same one.
Death of a all time favourite actor Dong Biao aka Uncle Biao.

Back to Genting Trip with my frens.. The journey itself took about 6 hours. It was so cold down there only 13 degree. Anyway I am back here in Singapore. Previews of some pics. More coming soon...

Yesterday went to have dinner at Suntec with my dear Pohphin. Buffet dinner for 2. Their desert was superb.. but one thing the waiters are all very irritating. Cannot even let us eat in peace. Every 5-10 minutes will come and ask "Sir/Madam may I collect the plate?" Li Li Siao Siao!!!! ma de give them all one slap on the face. Human beings are all cheap creatures!!! 你明知道会被饱死还要花钱去活受罪..活该！！！
